You not only get the good stuff mentioned in Ken Buck's reply,
you also (with some issues of the magazine) get a list of all
of the active local chapters.  These chapters usually sponser
events throughout the year such as: day trips, cruises, rallies,
etc. - any excuse to put the top down and DRIVE!

P.S. Try to remember to list the your locale in your mail messages.
     That way other Miata drivers in the area can build a list
     of potential members for their local chapters.
