Just because the gauge doesn't go below 1/2 doesn't necessarily mean you are
getting sufficient lubrication.  It just means you're getting good pressure.
Don't forget that the heavier the oil, the more pressure it takes to push 
the stuff through those tiny little oil channels.  The primary concern is
*not* oil pressure, its lubrication.  Oil pressure is just a secondary
indicator of that.
