What's interesting to me is that all the special editions seem to have leaned in a bit of a "cushy" direction. I always thought it would be great to see Mazda do a "club racer" kind of thing. Heavier sway bars, shorter/higher rate springs, mild engine mods, etc. Like someone mentioned, maybe a BRG with a yellow hood stripe.
