I need this data for accurate > computation. The short answer: Shift at 7240 rpms (red line is at 7000, rev limiter at 7250) The long answer: There is a map of the hp and torque curves in one of the car mags (c&d I think) from around fall 1989 when the Miata first came out. But anyone who has raced a Miata in any form will tell you to shift as late as possible to take advantage of the high rpm power. Last track event I experimented (at the request of my instructor) with changing shift points. The results were shifting at 7000 was a couple of seconds faster than shifting at 5500. The increase in lap times was pretty linear with the delay of the shift point. -- Miq Millman miq@wv.mentorg.com miq_millman@rainbow.mentorg.com Mentor Graphics 8005 Boeckman Rd, Wilsonville OR 97070 503 685 1492 C2148
