I just went through this with my 3.5 year old Miata. I called Honey Mazda just to see if it would cost less than dealing with the local Mazda dealer (who are tremendous jerks), and they told me that the additional charges incurred for the hazardous materials handling shipping it would most likely offset the savings. I wound up getting it from the dealer for $133. As I understand it no one else makes a replacement yet. For the record Honey Mazda was really nice. The relays I needed (for the lights and auxilliary fan) list for $17.99, the local dealer wanted $21, and Honey let me have them for $13.50. Regarding said relays, has anyone had them start failing? Last week the battery went dead, and after putting the new one in the fan came on instantly and the relay got hot. I've had the one for the lights fuse solid at one point (when I jumped it wrong - oops!), so I _think_ that's my problem. At least, it hasn't happened again and I can't trace any other faults... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Michael Garvin - Systems Programmer garvin@mmrc.ncsu.edu Mars Mission Research Center (919) 515-5250 [Voice] North Carolina State University (919) 515-7968 [Fax]
