My, uh, friend installed the Hella H4 conversion kit - about three minutes work per side. Osram makes some 80W/95W bulbs (I think) that work fine when you clip off a little metal tab (designed to prevent them from being run on the street, I guess). Anyhow, very nice vision at night, low or high, and no flashes from oncoming cars. Needless to say, make sure your headlights are well adjusted, or your low beams will blind oncoming traffic something fierce. The Hella low beams have this really amazing cutoff pattern that's reassuring...you can see how much light there is on the road and there isn't in people's eyes. If you need serious photons, say for rallye purposes, I know someone who sells a little rack that mounts on the front of the Miata--where the tie down hooks mounted, I think--onto which he puts two aircraft landing lights. I've driven behind this setup...it's *extremely* impressive. Almost nothing like this is legal, so the "stealth" approach with the Hellas and Osrams is pretty appealing, and not very expensive. dbk
