Concerning my rpm versus mph measurement, someone pointed out my arithmetic didn't
work out, so I went and checked again.

3000 rpm in 5th = 57.7 mph
3500 rpm in 5th = 67 mph

and to check the arithmetic,

3000/3500 = 57.7/67 = 0.86
