Subject: Last Word on Gasoline?

Greetings.

Several months ago, maybe almost a year, I was complaining on this
list (okay, I was whining) about gasoline problems with my '91, specifi-
cally, poor performance (pinging) using both regular and medium unleaded
gasoline from Amoco and BP/Gulf. Finally came down to one sage's advice,
"If it runs good on premium, BUY PREMIUM!"

I lived with BP premium for a while (they call it premium for a reason).
No problems. Then Happy Stores, which sell Chevron down here, started
popping up everywhere, so I thought I'd give it one more shot. I tried a
tank of medium unleaded. No pinging. Another one. No pinging. Went down
to regular unleaded. Still no pinging. I've now been running for at least
four months on regular unleaded with absolutely no complaints.

Just thought, since I burdened this list with my gripes the first time,
I'd followup.
