As a former CRX owner, I would say that it is jealousy. I think that this is called sportscar envy. I owned a Red '89 CRX Si before I got my Miata in February. It was my first new car and I dearly loved it. The CRX is a great little car, but it is front wheel drive and has a roof. It is not a true sports car and the Miata is. The CRX handles great and it very fast. Never had any problems and I put 65K on it in four years, and I drove it really hard. However the Miata handles better and is alot more fun. Hope it lasts as well too. I plan to keep it longer. I saw a ~'67 E Type and a 63 Elan yesterday, and they really made me realize what a great decision it was to sell my CRX. It is fun to have a real sportscar!!! Seeing those two classics, which greatly influenced the Miata design, made me feel really good.
