Thanks to those who have responded - I read over my first message and
realize that I need to clarify this noise further.  A little test driving
this weekend revealed the following: 1) the noise starts at 3800 rpm and
stops at 4000 rpm in any gear;  2) sounds like a nozzle sucking or blowing
air at a very high rate; 3) if I had to guess, the noise seems to be
coming from the front of the car (not the muffler) and 4) I am not losing
any power at the 3800 - 4000 rpms.  Any clues as to what the noise is?
(mine is a '91 special edition with 28K miles)
