Hey, listers,
Several people have responded to my query about the rattling noise
and it seems to be a common problem. I took my car to my regular
mechanic who diagnosed a catalytic converter problem that is covered
by warranty up to 50,000 miles. I am taking my car to the dealer
tomorrow (June 22) to get it repaired and hopefully be rid of the
noise. Several people have talked about recurrent rattle problems
related to the heat shield so I am prepared to be tinkering with this
off and on, hopefully at minor expense.
I will let you know if there is more to this problem than met my
mechanic's eye.
