I think I can safely eliminate two of the three (four) possible causes.
I haven't washed my car in a while and it doesn't stall when I slow down.
Similarly, the new tires won't affect the engine rpm unless you are coming to a
stop without pushing in the clutch! Seriously, though, I have seen several
mentions of your problem. One note was in the national mag and mentioned a
minor adjustment of the idle speed (?) screw. Another mention was just on CIS
and dealt with a dirty part in the intake system - I'll try to find the thread
and get back to you.
