The > other two tires go in the passenger seat, resting on the center console, > where they make shifting uncomfortable. or in some cases, impossible... when i got my snows installed (on a separate set of rims), it took 2 trips to get all the rims and tires to the place. coming back home, i was able to load the 4 now-mounted tires/wheels into the car as you describe, but realized that i couldn't shift into reverse. naturally, i had parked nose-in and _had_ to back out :-) so i unloaded the tires, moved the car, then repacked everything and drove on home. *sigh*
