Well, my preferred goal would be enough energy put out in the forward
direction to vaporize the bugs that dive at the car at night...  think of
all the cleaning time that I will save...  but only on highbeam (I don't
want to be blinded by the reflection from the chrome on the cars ahead of me)

Yes, but all you need to do is drop the headlights to hide your non-DOT lights
from all but the most inquisitive.

On a related thread, how much current can the standard headlight relay take?
I'm pretty sure that the last time I looked at the relays I saw one for the
headlight.  I was planning on putting in a new relay and wiring anyway, I'm
just wondering how far I could go with the stock.
