I know - this bothered me at first too. I think I've already gotten used to the idea that I can stand on the brakes without getting into trouble. On the other hand, I've been driving for enough years that as soon as standing on the brake pedal is evidently causing problems (like tire smoke, undesired yaw, etc. :-) I'll probably just naturally do what I always have: start modulating manually.
