On CompuServe there was a discussion about batteries, too (this was a few
months back). One of the Mazda dealers that advertises in the mag will
sell the
batteries for $100. As mentioned, shipping charges for the HazMat will
bump the
price back up to the cost of buying the battery locally. If you have a
second
dealer nearby (where the staff is less obnoxious) you may try going there
and
asking for a club discount (even if you're not a member-they may not ask
to see
a membership card).
Did that pink miata have the plate "bunny 1" ? Someone on CompuServe
mentioned seeing *two* different pink miatas in the same week in Cali. I
also
heard of a powder blue one that was at Indy last summer. It was owned by
someone in Texas. Other schemes I have seen are basic mix'n'match with
the
hardtops (blue body/white hardtop, white body/blue hardtop, red
body/black top,
etc).
