My information sources say the opposite.  A former colleague
and BMW motorcycle racer from Germany told me his dealer recommends
Mobil 1 in engines which are stored for long periods due to its
ability to cling to parts longer and hold contaminants in suspension
better than normal oils.  He and his biker friends have been doing this
for a number of winters, and never had any problems.
