Re: The service person went on to explain that many Mazdas (incl Miatas) come from the factory with ATF in the manual transmission - to make cold-weather shifting easier. What do you think of this? -I think they're nuts and they belong at my local dealer who told me that air would work itself out of my brake system. From my years of working at a dealer I don't remember any manual trannies with ATF in them (of course I mainly worked in parts). We did keep plenty of gear lube in stock. Our mechanics definitely used gear lube in the manual trannies, regardless of what came out during the service. I have a few questions regarding my car- When the dealer was repainting the engine compartment (after leaking brake fluid damage) some overspray got onto the fender. I took the car to the dealer this morning to have clean it and they only got about half of it. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to use to clean the rest of it off the fender? I don't think that I want to go to this dealer much more for this problem. I also asked the dealer to check the PS reservoir, there is a bit of fluid on the outside of the reservoir and adjacent body panels. The mechanic siad this was normal from "capillary action." At Road America last weekend I chacked under the hoods of about three dozen miatas and only one with PS had any signs of even a slight coating of fluid on the outside. This measn it's not normal (no one on CIS reported any trouble, either). Does anyone have any thoughts about causes or solutions? Thanks in advance. -alex-
