The noise lasted for about a second, but it sounded like a _bad_ noise. I pulled the car out of the garage, washed it, pulled it back into the garage, a day later I started it and heard the racket. I always get 1/4-1/2 second of lifter noise on startup, but it's quiet by comparison. I use 10/40 oil changed at 2500-3000 miles. Maybe the moral is to let the car idle for a bit longer before shutdown on these "move it" kind of trips. _ / Jeff Maurer, Sr. Analyst _ ___/ _ __ Service Applications, Sequent Computer Systems, Inc. / / / / / / Uucp: ...!uunet!sequent!jdm / /__/_/ / Internet: jdm@sequent.com __/ (503) 578-5062
