You need a speaker-level to line level converter as well as >everything else. Quite correct. I haven't decided whether to do that or to install the Cassette/tuner from my previous car; it's a Yamaha pull-out model. I'd probably use its internal amp to power the headrest speakers and feed the pre-amp outputs to the amp. What I'm wondering here is whether or not the shift lever will leave enough clearance to remove the thing once its installed. >The easy way to wire things is around the bakc of the trunk (under the >panel covering the lock mechanism, up through the tunnel along the right >side of the gas tank, and then up the center console from there. Sounds good; you mean you don't have to do any drilling? Maybe I'll do this job this weekend! BTW... it looks like the only place my amp will fit is on the rear wall of the trunk, next to the lock mechanism. I guess _anywhere_ I mount it is going to reduce my trunk space... oh well. The last hurdle is going to be replacing the door speakers. I have a set of 2-way component speakers. The 6.5" woofer will probably fit into the stock cutout with a little modification, but I have yet to find a place to mount the tweeter without screwing up the interior. I wonder how Mazda handles the installation of the tweeter in the upgraded factory system; does anyone know if one can buy just the top portion of the door panel, with the tweeter cutout?
