Readers, With respect to the recent thread of information regarding high engine compartment temperatures, do any of you recall the old method of adding spacers to the hood hinges that was done back in the late 60s and early 70s? It occurred to me that this might improve the engine compartment temp's and allow cooler air to the intake. I don't necessarily condone the change in hood configuration, but it might be a solution to those of you who are searching for improved cold air sources. As I recall, this was about the time that GM introduced the "cowl induction," and the pressure in front ofthe windshield assisted airflow to the intake in those vehicle configurations. Any comments?
