Well recently there was a short thread about the RPM limiter. Although
I do not BABY my engin when it comes to RPM's I had never reached this point
and thought the description sounded harsh ("Violent" I think was the word used).
Well, today I entered my first Auto-X event ever and during my second run,
while concentrating on the course, the cones, and not DNFing like the car in
front of me, it happend. I was accelerating hard trying to use the short run
between turns 2-3 to gain a few seconds. just before I was going to start breaking
the car bucked violently. Well panic, fear, and thoughts of embassarement went
through my head just before I realized how HIGH the RPMs sounded before it bucked.
Looked at my tach and sure enough 7250.
Well being my first event I ran in Novice class and never realy was in the
running for anything, I did manage to make it within .8 sec of my desired
time, and had a lot of fun. And seeing as I was the ONLY C class novice I guess
I was best (and worse) in that league. Now, if we could take a 93 RX-7 engine
and handling and put it in a Miata....
