With respect to adjusting the ignition timing to the MiataMag's 14 degrees BTDC recommendation, those of you involved in autocrossing should bear in mind that doing so is illegal for running in stock. Timing is *not* free, and in the Miata's case must remain within a degree of the factory setting (10 BTDC, if memory serves). With respect to Alan Dahl's tire wear question, my experience has convinced me that the front tires of *all* cars (except dragsters, perhaps) wear faster than the rears. The difference is larger on FWDs, of course, but I'd say keep the worn ones on the back until you can get a new pair, then put the new pair up front and the old ones out back. Your mileage may vary, but I doubt by very much. - Steve Bruun
