Well, if anyone remembers the question I posed a few weeks ago about a few connectors under the hood, I finally got the manual and after some investigation, now I know. The collection of connectors under the master cylinder is just a bunch of grounds. I still haven't been able to figure out exactly what they are for. The blue connector with one conductor has +12v on it, meant for the diagnostic tools that also plug into the diagnostic connector that is nearby. The other mystery connector in that location is a connector for cruise control. (which I do not have, so... it is unconnected.) Since I heard about Canada's Daytime Running Light law (DRL) I have been wondering how the DRL's were implemented on Canadian Miatas. In the wiring diagrams, I noticed the DRL module, but it seems that the lights that are used are the parking lights, which turn off when the emergency brake is set. Is this correct? Any Canadian Miatans on the list? BTW, I spent a little extra money and got the version of the manual for a 3 ring binder. You have to buy the wiring diagram separately, but I think it is a small price to pay to avoid the frustration of trying to hold the (smaller) bound version open while working on the car. Also, it makes it much easier to photocopy the manual and avoid getting greasy fingerprints on the original. Also the wiring diagrams fold out to 11" by 15" sheets. -- Matt Bennett hazmat@motor.arl.army.mil
