Years ago my family lost two catalytic converters, apparently becuase of Shell gas. We used it exclusively because it was the only station near our home. Both my mother's '82 GLC and my '82 RX7 suffered clogged catalytic converters ($$$$$) after about 1 year of using gas from that station. However, we have no way of knowing that the Shell gas was actually the cause. We also don't know that that station was representative of Shell gas stations elsewhere.
