Every Honda with power steering I drove was lifeless and dead(like most Hondas:)). However, Its a different story on the Miata. I have owned a '90 base with manual steering and I currenty have a '93 B package with power steering. IMHO, I like the power steering better. The steering rate in the power steering is faster, making it quicker and feel more responsive. The manual steering seems to have more "feel" at low speeds, but after about 50-60mph or so, both have the same weight. I put on aftermarket rims and tires on the '90 and it was too hard to manouver(sp?) around town. I feel that I only gave up a little in steering weight at medium speeds but gained a lot in responsiveness with the quicker ratio with the power steering. It is a lot easier to catch slides with the power steering. All is needed is a flick of the wheel and the car comes back in line. :) I would also recommend getting the limited slip differential. It is only a $250 option and the car is much more predictable in a slide. :) Bill Kim '93 B White
