i got a set of the the brushed steel ones by Tuscon Tool & Die,
they have a Miata logo engraved into the metal but not highlighted
(i.e., not excessively visible, which is fine with me).
these are nice, although subject to scratches, but then,
that's what they're there for...
i like them fine and would get them again.

my wife got a set of the black painted ones from the same guys
for her Miata, those are fine too, although they have the Miata
logo painted in white, which i wasn't crazy about.

i believe these are available either directly from Tuscon
or also from Rod Millen and maybe others for about the same price.

the Mazda sill plates are very nice but a LOT more $$
(like around $100 more).
haven't seen the plastic ones in person, so i can't
comment on them.
