Hi Folks, Last week I had a disappointing event happen, seems there are two cables partially inside the fabric of the top - mine broke! The cables attach to the top frame somewhere near the hinge at the door pillar (rear of the seat) and trace the window openings (the cable is inside a seam at the top of the window and terminates somewhere inside that seam). The purpose of the cable is to hold the fabric tight to the frame above the window - if you haven't noticed, the fabric is not attached to the frame where the top folds back on itself above the window. Somehow my cables sheared (looks like a fairly clean cut) at the point where the top folds back on itself. The parts folks ordered the top frame, but the frame did not come with the cables. So now I am getting a whole new top! FREE! :-) I know people have had problems with glue joints coming undone, but has anyone experienced the cables breaking? -alex- NEW, NEW, NEW email address now in service (for me): "albabe@wam.umd.edu" The compuserve address is still good, too. AND I have new phone number! (301) 345-1340 - the old one ((301) 345-4538) is still good, too.
