Mike,
I didn't have this problem with my stock exhaust system, I had it with my
 aftermarket Borla.  There was a terrible buzzing sound at about 3500 rpm
 which I traced to a broken spot-weld on the heat shield near the 
differential.  I had to remove the whole thing and re-tack the heat shield 
back on (MIG welder on low).
