I had the same problem.  Since my warrantee expired long ago (and my car's
too :-) I just slapped a big ol' hose clamp (2 7/8" or so) on there and now
the rattle is gone.  I think I even did it without jacking the car up, as
the heat shield is accessible through the front left wheel well.
