For certain, they void the warrantee on any parts you remove/replace. So an exhaust would void the warrantee on your OEM exhaust. Beyond that, apparantly individual dealers have considerable latitude in determining whether or not a particular problem is covered under warrantee, once you've modified your drivetrain in any way. If you're seriously concerned about voiding your warrantee, you should wait until it expires. I didn't, but I drive my car (currently) an average of 25,000 miles a year, which means I'll run out the warrantee long before any time-related problems occur, and I've had only one warrantee service anyway (an o-ring failed, and I started to get a little oil leakage from the dipstick assembly). > b) insurance ? The short answer is "They won't charge you if they don't know." My auto insurance policy requires that I notify the insurer if I install anything costing more than $200 on the car. So far, I've done clearwater speakers and amp, HKS exhaust, and tried a Millen intake which I sent back (I want to autocross in CS, not CSP). Didn't tell 'em, don't plan to. I'll eat the cost if the car is stolen or totalled, but I can survive that. -- Ken *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* Ken Warren |"Nothing good has ever been reported about the | full rotation of a race car about either its E-Mail: kenw@netaxs.com| pitch or roll axis."
