I had the dealer install the Mazda trunk rack on my miata. Looks great, but I
rarely use it. The carrying capacity of the rack is 22 lbs. The low capacity
is partly because it's plastic and mostly because the trunk is made of fairly
thin metal. The rack is nice to carry my volleyball gear and bales of hay 
(don't ask) when the top is up, but when I have the top down I just throw my
gear on the deck behind the seats (on top of the folded top/boot). The presidennt
of my old local club chapter has a set of the trunk mounted luggage and really
likes it (I can't remember if he has a rack or not).
