I know this topic has been brought up before, but since the problem had not
arisen in my car I did not pay attention to how to fix the problem.  I have
been very careful when raising and lowering my top as not to put any extra
stress on the zipper (ie. I don't latch the roof until I zip up the window
and I don't unzip the window until after I have unlatched the top).  However,
regardless of this care the zipper broke right where the handle attaches to
the zipper.                      __-

I can still zip it by grasping the top and bottom of it, but I was wondering
if someone was able to cheaply replace it or has another fix.  My car is a
1990 and is no longer under warranty.
