And do I >need to spend more $ on additional amplification? Rich, I put the Kenwoods into my headrests. They sound OK, but are a little "sweet" for my taste. From what I've heard, the Clearwaters are a little better. I would suggest getting the speakers from some company in the Miata mag because they will have the DIN plug and wires ready to go for the stock radio (easier than making your own plug). As for additional amplification, it's not needed per se, but will greatly enhance the overall quality of the sound. Clearwater makes one for around $250-$300 (I think). Right now I'm looking at either the Clearwater setup or a full-blown setup. Unfortunately, funds will decide what I get. Hope this helps (rather than confuse).
