I have used Armor-all or STP on my top since the car was new (1990). I think it definately will extend the life of the top. I have even put it on the window occationally, let it dry, and wiped it off after it was absorbed. I think it may help that too (maybe chicken soup would also). I am careful not to get any on the paint, but always do, but I just clean that stuff off after. My only problem is when it gets on the windshield the wipers work terribly. barry ----- Barry A.
