It's time to replace my Miata's original sparkplugs. Not interested in SplitFire or platinum plugs. I have a question about NGK's. Shop manual notes that NGK BKR6E-11 plugs are standard equipment for the manual transmission car. However, the shop manual also lists the BKR5E-11 and BKR7E-11 as options. What is the difference? Colder & hotter? Which is which? Which is better? I've bumped my timing up to 14 deg BTDC and run 89 octane gas. I don't drive the Miata in the winter. Would one of these other-option plug numbers perhaps be better or worse than the original for my fuel/timing setup? Finally, any sage advice on pulling & reinstalling plugs in those d-e-e-p holes?
