You can repair minor dents (no creases in the metal) pretty effectively
with a large suction cup.  I got one at a hamfest for $2.00.  It is a big
rubber suction cup with a handle.  clean the surface, wet it, slap the 
suction cup on there and pull like hell.  It will pull out minor dents and
reduce the size of larger ones.

I think these suction cups are also sold as glass lifters.
