Instead of heating, then cooling, I have heard of a procedure that removes hail dings using dry ice to cool, which causes the metal to contract, removing the ding. I seem to recall a thread on this subject 6 or 8 months back that one of these paintless dent removal techniques was to use what looked like a burnisher, or some other hard smooth metal rod, insert it into the body panel via a drain hole or a hole drilled in an unobtrusive place, and rub it out from the inside. Using a suction cup may not be perfect, but the only minus I have found is that it may not remove all of the dent, just most of it. I have used my suction cup a number of times to remove dents, and it has reduced the damage without causing any more damage each time. The biggest danger I can see is pushing the suction cup on too hard, thereby causing a bigger dent. That is why I suggested cleaning the area first, then using a bit of water to make a good seal for the vacum. Matt
