I was browsing through my Miata shop manual, seeking how to tighten my clutch
pedal.  It tells how to measure the slack in the pedal. It then gives
two different allowable tolerances;
'Pedal free play', and 'Total pedal free play'.  Total pedal free play is
allowed to be larger than pedal free play.

Does anybody know what the difference is between 'pedal free play' and
'total pedal free play'?
