John,
	Two of the best roads are Skyline Drive/Blue Ridge Parkway (VA to TN
oops...or GA) and the Pacific Coast Highway in CA (which I have to travel). 
Because these roads are such fun driving and viewing they are very touristy. The
eastern road is probably least traveled between late October and May.
