Well, I think it's better to go with real snow tires than compromise with all-season ones. I want to get some good snow tires for mine; there's been some discussion lately on rec.autos and someone posted an article with some ratings. Unfortunately I didn't save it, but from memory: Goodyear Ultra Grip 4 (5 stars) Bridgestone Blizzaks (5 stars) Nokia NRW (4 stars) That's all I remember. Maybe someone saved the whole thing? I'm kinda decided on the Blizzaks. One thing I read about these is that they have some type of "dual surface" where the first layers of the tire are for heavy snow and as it wears down it becomes a regular all-season tire. Maybe they intend you to buy them once a year in the beginning of winter so when its over you can keep using them as regular all-seasons? That might be kinda annoying though since I want to have a separate set of performance tires for the summer... -- Jyri J. Virkki | DoD#561 | jyri+@cmu.edu | Linux: Choice of a GNU generation
