mods to the brakes as well. While I wouldn't argue that better brakes and tires are "good things", do people really think that the stock brakes are insufficent to handle 40-50 more horsepower? Regarding the adequacy of the brakes, I usually try to stay away from making sweeping generalizations, because they are typically meaningless. But BBR car is warranteed by Mazda UK, I doubt that Mazda would take that risk if they didn't think the brakes would do the job. And people drive alot harder in the UK than we do here in this country. Furthermore, these brakes are fine under racing conditions (see the latest miata club rag. for details), I'd be pretty impressed if you can simulate racing conditions on public roads. WRT the cost factor and comparison with the RX-7, there is absolutely no way I could justify the mods based on $$$, I just wanted to address the only shortcoming of my miata (I don't car about grocery space), lack of power. If Mazda makes the RX-7 topless, you can bet I'll line up with my loan application. - Steve.
