When I had a serious wreck in my GTI, they covered everything, including the body kit, custom wheels and such. I would assume that if the engine was somehow damaged, they would cover what ever the parts were, aftermarket or stock. I did not inform the insurance company before the accident and they had no problems fixing the aftermarket stuff. If the car is totaled, then I think its a different story..... My brother had to pull his stereo out of his car after it was totaled because they would not cover that. I think it also varies from one company to another..... Any insurance agents/adjusters out there?
