Well, I recieved and devoured my Fall edition of the mag this weekend. Thought someone should stimulate some discussions: 911 vs Miata: I always thought that the 914 vs Miata would be a better comparison (I sold my 70 914 to buy my 91 Miata.) The 914 was designed with similar intentions as the Miata (except that the stylists were on vacation). Has anyone ever heard of a side-by-side car comparison where you only get to drive one side? Is a pretty 911, thought. I found the editorial regarding (not) high-powering your Miata interesting, especially with the ad for the new Miata Club supercharger on the back of the very same page (touch of irony). This is a philosophical battle I have with myself in my head. I love the balance of the stock car, but the supercharger idea does get my adrenaline pumping. The only solution I've come up with is to own (at least) two Miatas, one kept totally stock, and one to modify to my heart's content. unfortunately, niether my bank account, wife, nor small garage like the idea. Brainstorm Products has their foglights on sale for $99. Good deal. Andy tells me, though, that he's got some 85 watt PIAAs on the way for about $250 that will throw a ton of light. Sounds interesting. Lastly, re the Vermont 1000, or whatever it was called. Sounds wonderful. I might see if I can get the route map and do some or all of it someday. Well, hope that gets the discussion going :^7 -Jeff.
