hmm... as for price... that is exactly what puts Lotus out of comparisons
with other regular car makers such as Mazda.

As for performance, my 92 Lotus Elan SE handles and accelerates a lot better
than my 92 Mazda Miata. But, of course we are talking abt quite different
drive configs. A mod'ed Miata won't differ very much in cost to an Elan.
Also, I am talking abt stock... modifications make a car very different
and in some sense you actually get a totally different car :)

I would have to agree with u on the reliability part since the MX-5 has
had much less problems than the Elan... but the problems are only little
bugs like a faulty glove box etc.
