Folks, Anyone that has even *tried* to drive the car aggressively with the Bridgestones in wet weather know that it is extreeemely easy for the tires to lose their grip. I had trouble with the tires spinning on the white stripes on the road when I was accelerating lightly in the rain! I autoXed my Miata with the stock Bridgestones and the second there was water on the ground I stop running. I've spent time on a skip pad (to the point of spinning) and spun a fefew times on my own. I'm not saying that the tires being being poor wet weather tires is an excuse to make mistakes and blame on the tires. I always allowed more time for braking in the rain (remember the thread on the wet brakes). Wet weather traction is greatly improved now that I have a set of Yoko U+4 tires. I even ran in a rainy autoX early this month. Anyway, the stock Bridgestones SUCK (MOO). The is a thread somewhere on Compuserve that rates tires and I recall seeing something about the SF325 on one of them. The 1994 Consumer Reports buying guide has an index that shows an article on all season tires in the FEB 93 issue (P 100). The 93 Buying guide has a brief article on tires, but only gives the basics "what to look for" and "what the markings mean." There are no ratings in the 93 guide. For whoever took the spin (Andy was it you???) hopefully all the threads from this recent post and the previous archives can provide enough proof that the *can* handle poorly in the rain. I guess the real issue is whether anyone was hurt and if there was any property damage. Did anyone witness the incident?
