Subject: What type of luggage for the trunk?

In reading through this month's R&T, one of the writers in the
miata article mentioned he had a couple of bags which fit perfectly
into the trunk.  He neglected to mention what type that was.

I was wondering what other people have done to maximize the space
in the trunk.  Any good brands/types of luggage?  Any innovative
use of space? (I remember something about using the space behind the
spare tire)  Any other suggestions besides the luggage rack?
