>a friend has a 93 base model and is experiencing a >lack of braking for 3-4 seconds when first driving >after a rainstorm. she's driven to an office bldg >for a meeting. it stormed. on the way back, she had >this 3-4 seconds of brakelessness when she first really When I posted my experience with this last sunday night I was hoping someone may have seen this before. The above confirms it in my eyes--that this is a *major* disaster waiting to happen. Well I skydive for my adrenaline rush and driving my miata in the rain and hitting the brakes just about beats jumping outa planes! Mine is also a '93 (B + ABS). My car has stayed in the garage and is going back to the store when it stops raining. My insurance risk (and neck) just ain't worth it. My other car is a fiero '84 and I'd rather take the chance of it bursting into flames which is what they are famous for! The only question remaining is why the ABS starts to work (to no avail) during the period of "I hope the brakes kick in soon" (which lasts between 1-2 seconds ie lotsa road)? >applies braking. this kinda disturbs me that one >can have such problems merely from being in a t-shower. A total understatement. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- #include | Gone crazy - back soon. mick@ddiq.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------
