RE: Contacts for Summit point: The track is operated by Bill Scott, under the name BSR (Bill Scott Racing). Unfortunately, I can't lay hands on a phone no. or address right off, but there will no doubt be others who will provide an answer. One point: Depending upon which driver's school or session you go to, you may not be able to run a Miata. We've talked this over at the local (Capitol Area Mazda Club) group, and whether or not you need a roll bar with an open car, seems to vary depending upon the whims of whoever is running the particular event. With one group, I understand that you can run an open car, but will not be allowed to go solo, even if you are otherwise qualified. With another, I understand that their instructors won't get in the car with you without a roll bar - you HAVE to go solo!! Go figure. Does a removable hard top negate the roll bar requirement? Again, it seems to depend upon who you talk to. Hopefully, someone will come up with more concrete info. than this. I will say that it's an absolute BALL driving there, from the viewpoint of an absolute neophyte at such things (one driving school day and some fast touring laps on another occasion). Go to it! --Jack M.
