Some asked recently if others had been annoyed by drivers pulling up close behind their Miatas. I have not been pressured in such a manner, although I am consious of the short deck that might lend one to feel that the guy behind is really close. I would suspect that there are several factors that cause folks to pull up close: (1) they are curious and want to see the car better, (2) they are jealous and want to annoy the hell out of you, (3) They want to see just how small/low it is and use their hood as a reference (4) They are just plain stupid I know back in the days before I had such a vehicle I probably practiced all of the above (even the last one). On another note, I have not yet had the opportunity to try my Miata out in the snow since it was rear-ended in late December and has been the shop ever since. I am really getting depressed not having it around, but it is staying out of the snow and *salt*. I stop in at the body shop weekly to check on it and motivate the bodyman (who is in fact very good at his trade, so I don't want to antagonize him). If the weather continues as it has been over the last two weeks, I may take my stock steels and get some snows on them. My only question is whether to put them all the way around, or just on the back. I think that the issue has been broached on the list before, but I don't recall any significant rationale for the conclusions. Tom Manson Manson@fsd.com
